Customers of Wells Fargo Complain About Missing Deposits in Their Bank Accounts

According to the bank, a "limited number" of Wells Fargo customers have been unable to view recent deposits.

Users expressed worries about lost deposits on the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, in a number of customer complaints that were posted on Thursday and Friday. Additionally, a surge in user reports indicating problems with Wells Fargo on Thursday and Friday is visible on the website Downdetector.

"I'm taking my checking, my savings, and my IRA from Wells Fargo Advisors," one customer said in a tweet. "Safer burying in my backyard!"

"The majority of the problems have already been fixed, and we are working to quickly deal with the few that remain. We regret any inconvenience this may have caused," said Julia Bernard, a spokesperson. Customers with sufficient funds, even those that are not currently visible in their accounts, will be reimbursed for any fees that were levied.

When some Wells Fargo customers reported missing transactions on their accounts in March, the bank blamed a technical issue and received similar complaints.

For some, this is a major inconvenience.

Due to the confusion surrounding the disappearing deposits, people became enraged and posted numerous frustrated messages on X (the social media platform formerly known as Twitter).

A user expressed their dissatisfaction with missing work to pay their rent in person because they were unable to deposit the money at three different Wells Fargo branches. The user tweeted, "I want [Wells Fargo] to pay me for my time that I now have to take off for work tomorrow to deposit this in person."

Another client complained that because their money vanished, they would not be able to pay their rent at all.
